Finding Work Extended Episode Snippet

Finding Work is an inspiring reality series and documentary, designed to change the lives of unemployed participants by guiding them through a comprehensive process of preparing for and securing a new job/career. The series addresses a critical need for resources to help job seekers believe in themselves and succeed during the economic recession.

The objective of the series is to not only assist the individuals featured on the show, but to also provide thousands of viewers with the best tips, tools and strategies to help them ace interviews and achieve career goals.  By showcasing each participants journey through this process, the series is intended to motivate other job seekers of all ages and situations to aspire for success.

Host Gayle Robbins, will introduce candidates through an initial visit to his/her home, where the audience will first gain a glimpse into the personal life of the unemployed individual. Gayle will lead the participant through the steps it takes to get a job with the help of some experts.

Career Exploration: Certified job recruiter Jewel Sanford of Volt Workforce Solutions will assess the participant’s strengths, weaknesses, passions, and interests in order to identify potential work opportunities. She is very passionate and serious, and will go great lengths to helping each individual, however she is very direct and bold with her criticisms.

Resume and Interview Skills: Resume specialist Tara Turner will focus on resume building skills along with interview tips including proper introductions and handshake tips, presentation and speaking skills, business etiquette and interview questions/answers.

Business Attire: Fashion consultant and make up artist MYJ will counsel the participant on appropriate business wear for interviews and jobs. 1-2 complimentary ensembles will be provided to the participant to help him or her start a new business wardrobe.

Throughout the process, “confessionals” will be shot, allowing the participant to share his or her own perspective and feelings on the entire experience. This will create a way for the audience to relate to the show on a more personal level. Finally, we will also highlight the participant’s actual interview, concluding with a final follow up session (which should be a week or two after the interview) between the host, employer and the candidate to reveal if he or she lands the job.
